Snap programs freeze after starting

I have a problem with snaps on my Zorin 18.
I can download and install the programs. They even start, but after typing the first letter (e.g. when trying to login to my account in OneNote), the program freezes. This has been the case fpr three different snap-applications.
System is updated and upgraded. Snap is refreshed.
Any ideas?

Thanks

Hi, welcome to the forums!

If you can, I would recommend replacing those packages with their native Debian format as they are much less error prone.

In the software store, under the install button there's a dropdown option to choose the source of the install. Those marked as "Zorin OS - APT" are the Debian packages.
You might also find an installer if you look in the websites for those programs, which you can download in .deb format. This is similar to Windows' .exe or .msi installers.

Otherwise, something that comes to mind that may be involved is the keboard language input. Which language input are you using for your keyboard if you go into Settings?

Thanks for the suggestions.
I just realized that the freeze ends after ~ 20 sec. Then it. works again.
Btw: Ubuntu shows the same behavior on this laptop.

It's pretty strange nonetheless. I prefer to avoid these package formats like Snap and Flatpak as much as possible, precisely because they tend to have all sorts of little annoyances (well, sometimes not so little).
