Except for the stock wallpaper. Bummer.
Anduin is the same way. Might be the newer version of Gnome is to blame.

From my recollection (and this might be wrong, I can't test right now) but when you have the auto light / dark theme set, you can change the background in whichever theme you want, and it'll remember that for next time (unless it has changed for 18 vs 17, as I definitely remember on 17 that's how it worked because I missed the multiple time of day changes that 16 had and investigated what 17 did new).
You're right, I tried it, and it really doesn't seem to work in Zorin 18 anymore, only with the default background image.
But the auto dark-mode/light-mode switcher does work, only the background wallpaper is not set to the default dark Zorin wallpaper in dark mode as it was in Zorin 17.
I installed the gnome extension "Night-theme-switcher" in Zorin 18 live session for testing, there you can set up a separate background wallpaper for the dark mode.
It worked in the live session but it is mentioned on the extension site that ubuntu is not supported.
Yes, I see that. Seems to be new in Tweaks. That mitigates the problem. No need for another extension.
