hello, i found that software updater has spinning wheel of death on new install it seems making individual selections not possible it will trigger persistant loading state. i could not reproduce this on zorin pro or my laptop installation.

How is Your Source set up? Are You have chosen ''Main Server'' in Software & Updates? It is on the first Tab (please don't be irritated by the Language; my System is in german):
Another Thing: When You type in the Terminal sudo apt update && sudo apt upgrade what Output do you get? Any Warnings or Error Messages?
i switched from usa->main and will report back when new updates roll in. i suspect you are very much correct but i dont know why. my other installations are working with no issues on intel hw with default selections. 
Test it and we will see. Did you checked it with the Terminal Command if there are any Errors?
