Do you have a folder called "tom" inside the hard drive?
No only what is shown in this screenshot.
It's very strange - I've been away and found that the internal HD no longer appeared in Files, though it did in Disks, GParted and Timeshift. Rebooted and it came back!
I think the Problem could be the tom/
at the End of the 2nd Picture. Change that and try it again.
I don't type it in - for destination, I chose the 2Tb HD and the programme changes it to this
And now tom has disappeared!
Given the option "Do NOT create extra directory", I assume that this would've created that extra folder for you... but also taking into account the permission issues from the other thread it may have failed to do so.
One step at the time, then. Solve the permission issues and once that's done try again to create the backup.
Alternatively, create a new empty folder yourself and use it as the destination to storage the backup in.
The Help said to leave this unticked, so i did.
I created a directory "tom" or "Tom" and ran Lucky and it backed up to a directory "tom" and "Tom" was empty, so maybe Tom was the one I typed in. Strangely, it said directory "tom" was from yesterday!
Deleted both and ran without adding a directory and it added directory "tom" and backed up to it.
This presumably is because of the sudo chown command you got me to run, so thanks again
Reminder what this command was:
tom@OldMesh:~$ sudo chown -R tom: /media/tom/

tom@OldMesh:~$ sudo chown -R tom: /media/tom/
