i am here because i can't get the sound/mic through my xbox one controller,
it is not recognized in the settings.

Did you tried to switch the audio in setting?
Settings>Sounds>Output> Output device
Change the output device i think that will help.
Or use this extension to be able to change it quicker and easier!

I am not sure if your XBOX controller is the same way, but mine is a custom model from PowerA, and it has a hardware level mute function by pressing down on the volume lever.
