Sound card is not detected...dummy output!

I use Zorin OS 17 PRO on my Kuu X3 series laptop with Intel J245 processor (bought on Amazon, this is the link https://www.amazon.it/dp/B0CBS2GPYS?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details).
After installation, I discovered that it can't find the sound card (Dummy output...).
I tried several ways to solve the problem, even installing different kernels with Mainline, but I couldn't solve the problem. Can anyone help me?

Unfortunately only Chuwi notebooks and one AXI100 slimbook appear to work and restricted to four different OS's:

Your particular machine isn't listed at all.
All I can suggest is to look at purchasing a USB audio device.

Welcome to the Forum!

Did you tried it with Pulse Audio Control? If not, open the Terminal and type sudo apt install pavucontrol and after the Installation open it and go to the Output Tab.

Thank you for the replies. In the afternoon I tried to run two live distro from USB, Mint Cinnamon and Linux Lite 7.0. While the same problem occurs with Mint, Linux Lite found the sound card and played an MP3 well. But I don't want to install it, I like Zorin too much, I hope and hope to be able to solve the problem one way or another.

Out of interest, one of the machines that worked was with Ubuntu 22.04 on which Zorin 17 is based. Out of curiosity, see if Ubuntu 22.04 gives any sound. (Also check what kernel version Ubuntu 22.04 is currently using). Did you check what kernel version Linux Lite was using?

Try running alsamixer in a terminal and hit F6. If you see something something like the below screenshot (from this superuser thread), specifically the "Intel HDMI/DP LPE Audio" option, then what worked to fix the audio on my Dell Venue 11 Pro may also work for you.

  1. add options snd-intel-dspcfg dsp_driver=2 to /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf and reboot
  2. test with spd-say "I'll be back"
  3. if it seemed quite slow or low-pitched, reboot into BIOS / UEFI and immediately "save and exit" (don't need to actually change anything)
  4. boot back into Zorin and test again spd-say "pineapple on pizza is a war crime"

this morning I tried to install the 6.8 kernel and then started alsamixer from the terminal. Typing F6 gives me this.
Thanks to everyone who wants to help me.

From websearch "Intel geminilake HDMI no sound ubuntu" I found this.
Don't know if any help to you: Gemini Lake No Sound (Dummy Audio) - #2 by wally333 - Hardware - Ubuntu MATE Community

Could also still be a known bug.

I thank everyone for the advice, I tried and tried referring to other suggestions but it was useless, ultimately it is a bug and I can only hope that in the future an update of Zorin (ubuntu) can solve the problem.
I only get angry when I think that I installed Zorin Lite on an old Acer Extensa 5620z notebook and everything works perfectly, including audio!
