Sound isn't working on new install

I installed Zorin OS 16 Core on my laptop. It is an Asus ROG Strix model G512LW. It has Intel Smart Sound Digital Sound Processor.

The sound itself works as the POST issues a sound.

I've followed the steps from the Zorin website, installed puseacontrol as suggested. When I go to volume control with playback maxed, volume control with Speakers no sound - the bar bounces back and forth but no sound. If I put headset on the sound works fine.

I installed it without the Intel drivers and with the Intel drivers - makes no difference.

I have looked at other posts here but I haven't found any success.

I did sudo lshw -class multimedia and got the following

swarfendor437 - thank you for your assistance.

After going there and trying their suggestions with no success I found the solution in a short Youtube video of all places.

The solution was to add the following line at the end of /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf

options snd-hda-intel model=asus-zenbook

And reboot. At reboot it worked. For Fedora and Suse you have to add the file and put this one line in it.....

A one line fix...

Again, thank you for your assistance!
