Standby Mode After Boot

When I see that guy, I'll let him know.

In the meantime... Novice Aravisian will have to do.

First: Is your chip Intel? If yes, use the below (1) and if no skip to (2):

sudo nano /etc/default/grub

  1. )Change the following line:

GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash"

TO:

GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash acpi_sleep=nonvs intel_pstate=disable"

  1. )Change the following line:

GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash"

TO:

GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash acpi_sleep=nonvs"

When done with (1) or (2) above - Hit ctrl+x to exit, then the y key to say yes to save, then the enter key to save as current configuration. The terminal will revert to normal appearance.
Enter in:

sudo update-gub

sudo reboot

and test.

Wow... thanks sir...
That I need...
Back ASAP to report this...

I try option 1 not work and now try opt 2

Still don't work with that sir... any hint... @Aravisian

Please revert your grub parameter to as it was prior to the changes. After doing so:

sudo update-gub

No need to reboot.

EDIT:

Oops.

OK... Let's try this first since it is a notebook:

sudo nano /etc/systemd/logind.conf

Scroll down and find:
#HandleLidSwitch=suspend

Remove the # sign and change suspend to ignore:
HandleLidSwitch=ignore

Hit ctrl+x to exit, then the y key to say yes to save, then the enter key to save as current configuration. The terminal will revert to normal appearance.
Reboot and test. If this does not work, I still have one more trick up my sleeve...

sudo nano /etc/default/grub

Change the following line:

GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash"

TO:

GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash acpi_backlight=vendor"

sudo update-grub

reboot and test.

Hiksss sudo update-gub again :sweat_smile:

Hahahaha... if you don't mention from first place I admit I can't see it... :slight_smile:
BTW it's work...
Just curious on
HandleLidSwitch=ignore
It's mean if I close my lid/laptop the screen do not sleep or standby?

That is the effect, I believe...
You can hit suspend from the app menu first, then close lid.

I try it the screen will go out but I think not sleep just turn it off the screen...
BTW it's more appropriate rather than I must hit power button twice to start a day hehehehe...

You picked the cuss post as the solution... :expressionless:

We are enemies, now...

Opppsss wrong tag for solution... @Aravisian how to edit that in the forum..
I'm just a novice user... :sweat_smile: :sweat_smile: :sweat_smile:
