Start Brave-Browser

Hello everyone,

After installing the Brave browser, the following message appears when starting it (see screenshot).

Does anyone have a solution to stop this?

I would be very grateful for any help.

Regards,
Hdz

Do You have the Flatpak Version or the .deb Version of Brave installed?

Hello,
the deb version is installed.

Do you have automatic login ?
If yes that's why, because Brave like chrome use keyring. Try to not use auto-login and reboot and retry...

Hello,
I had the same issue, I am also using automatic login.
If you don't need the keyring to store your passwords in your browser, then you can try the following: https://www.pclinuxos.com/forum/index.php/topic,151404.msg1294254.html#msg1294254
Basically, removing the keyring data. After reboot, when you get this prompt again then press enter twice. This solved it for me.
I hope this helps.

@Nourpon Hello,

Yes, since I'm the only user, I have automatic login and I'd hate to do without it.
Thank you for the tip, I'll give it a try.

@BrewCoffeeAddict Hello,

I ran the command:

/usr/bin/brave-browser-stable --password-store=basic

in the terminal.
Another browser session immediately started without a login window. However, after restarting the PC, the Brave login window reappeared.

Hello hdz,
Try to remove the keyring information by running in a terminal:

rm -v ~/.local/share/keyrings/*.keyring

This will reset the keyring.
Then after restart, when the Brave login message re-appeared, just press enter until it disappear.
Then the pop up should not appear again. This is what worked for me.

Hello everyone,

"rm -v ~/.local/share/keyrings/*.keyring"

This works for me too and is the solution to this little problem.

:+1:Thank you all very much :smile:
