Pretty much. I was a member of Stockport & District Motorcycle Club and on occasion would take me and members to pub do's. I had great fun braking hard and seeing the rear passengers catapulting fowards! To prevent this from happening again, I had to secure the seat of the rear bench by using air-elastic!
I remember my Dad fitting a bright white light on the back to be used when reversing with toggle switch on dashboard. It was a great car to drive and the engine was brilliant. Those were the days when you could take a carburettor off the car and clean it yourself on the dining table covered in newspapers.
Though I have to say, my favourite car, as a child, was my Dad's Austin 12. It had blinds in the rear passenger windows, a bit like you got on the old steam train carriages with notches in the framework for how far you wanted them to go down. The B pillar got attacked by woodworm. My Uncle on my Mum's side was a Joiner, and he spliced a fresh piece of wood into the affected area without even having to measure, pure line of sight. Then one year my dad had to let it go because the M.o.T. repairs would have cost too much. Only a few pounds then but too much for Dad to pay. I used to like the way those indicators would flick out from the B Pillar like little orange arms!
