Suggestion for Zorin 17.3 (or 18)

Hello everyone. I'm new to Linux, and I'm really enjoying it thanks to this awesome Distro that feels very simple and similar to Windows which I have been using since the dawn of PCs. I have tried many distros, including Mint, but Zorin seems to bring the best balance of everything. I have one suggestion for developers: please add the "Add to desktop" button for other desktop environments as well (currently it only works with the default one). I have found that with Gnome extensions manager you can add that options, so why not have it added as a stock feature for us beginners. I prefer the full screen apps menu and that one didn't have the "Add to desktop" button, so I had to jump from DE to DE to add icons. Thankfully, it can be added. Not a big deal, but it would be nice to have it for beginners. Keep up the good work!

Hi, welcome to Zorin OS.

I didn't even notice that's not turned on by default but it's a good suggestion. Thank you for bringing this up!

It isn't even built-in in Gnome. That is a third-party Gnome Extension. I use it, too.

Yeah but I find it a bit strange that changing layout disables this extension. I mean, if it works once you enable it manually, why not leave it on all the time?

This Extension only works in the App Grid. So, maybe it gets disabled when You have chosen a different Zorin Layout. I mean, these Layouts are preconfigured. Maybe that is the Reason.
