I am using the built in 'gnome' layout with an empty desktop then dock/panel on the left and workspaces on the right when in overview. Is there any way just to switch the dock/panel and workspaces so the panel is on the right and workspaces on the left?
Not what I'm aware of, other than you can hack/know-how Gnome. You could also try Dash to Dock extension for Gnome.
