Hello FreshJeff who's keeping it fresh. ![]()
I see your looking to get AMD's flagship offering. The great thing about Linux, is AMD drivers are in the kernel. Having said that however, thats a brand new card, and will not likely be in Zorin's 6.8 kernel, unless you install a later kernel.
This post teaches you how to do that BTW.
Another thing to keep in mind, Zorin OS 18 will release within the next few months, and it will come with a later kernel as well. You could buy your new card, while stock quantity is there, prior to the Christmas rush, and just wait to use it as well, its up to you.
I'm an Nvidia user personally, thats what I always stuck with, especially with my laptops built in 3080. Yes, there are AMD users on this site, you'll have to wait to hear what they say.
If your asking me what I would do in your situation? I would buy that flagship card now, and then wait to use it when Zorin OS 18 comes out. For the record, thats what I did, when I bought my new computer in 2021. Once OS 16 came out, I installed it, had the kernel I needed, and I was happy as a clam.
