System update and mouse pointer disappeared

After a system update, the mouse pointer disappeared in full-screen mode; this happened in both YouTube and Valheim. Any ideas on how to fix this? For Valheim, I already tried Proton, but I believe the root cause lies here:

" Source: The linux-firmware-amd-graphics package and the 7.0.0-31 kernel updated this week introduced a regression on the Radeon 860M GPU (RDNA 3.5 / gfx1152), causing the cursor to become invisible/transparent specifically over accelerated or full-screen surfaces. Outside of these windows, the cursor renders normally."

Hi and Welcome!

I think that clearly the latest kernel is not compatible with your Graphics card and therefore need to drop to the previous kernel that worked.

If when you boot you see a GRUB menu then you need to choose 'Advanced options for Zorin' and choose an earlier kernel.

If you can't see a GRUB Menu, then you need to repeatedly press the Esc key while powering on your machine, then the GRUB menu should show for you to choose an earlier kernel.

Welcome to the Forum!

This is unfortunately a know Problem which seems to still exist. @Nourpon, a User here, has already talked about it. You could try it with this:

You could test if switching to Xorg solves your problem, or the other way round. Logout and at login screen click on your username, then a cog wheal appears at the bottom right corner. There you can switch between Xorg and Wayland (only one of them is named). Sometimes updates change this setting.

Or try that gnome extension:
