Debian is leaner than Ubuntu. For users who need absolute performance it is the better choice.
But that isn’t what ZorinGroup or most users are worried about.

So the Zorin brothers do not know what is best for Zorin OS?
Though they never will it would be nice if the Zorin brothers would come out and give specific reasons.
Either way, I like Zorin OS for the Appearance app, the general app selection, built-in PlayOnLinux support, and one more tiny, but not insignificant item they allow due to the Gnome version: Fildem menus extension.
Still working to get that running on Debian Bookworm/Gnome/GTK4. Got it to recognize after changing the version in the JSON file, but menus still aren't showing.
What I like about Zorin is it just works. Don’t really run into incompatibilities anywhere with anything (except Gnone extensions)
It is just absolutely like a rock in every way.
This ending bit is not directed at you. But a general statement. You did not do this.
I do not understand the anti-Canonical sentiment on this forum sometimes. when anybody running Zorin is using Canonical’s work. That is one thing that will always bother me a touch. It is basically you like them enough to use their work but still insult them vs using countless alternatives?
MX Linux is basically a more focused user friendly version of Debian.
But with Debian 12 I would say the differences shrunk some.

Users acknowledging that Canonical broke trust and broke the promises that they chose to make (to not replace apt with Snap) to users is not evidence of an anti-Canonical sentiment or of "hate" for Canonical.
It is the normal and common course of holding others accountable for their mistakes.
It does not mean that they hate Canonical or think Canonical should be scrapped nor does it mean that Canonical has done no good for Linux.
Please stop shifting the goal posts whenever a person says something that you personally dislike.

In context, this statement does not follow. He? He who? Do what?
No.. I have argued with YOU about Canonical in recent times. As far as other users go, the only other user I recall arguing with Canonical over that is no longer on the forum - I defended Canonical from his claims that Canonical does not vet packages, has loads of dead packages in the Universe Repo and so forth.
In your angst over how the debate has progressed, you are now treading toward Personal Attacks and Accusations.
I suggest you take some time to cool your head.
I am not the one who attacked you. You attacked me by replying to me here in the first place. So am I the one who needs to "cool their head"?
Because of:
Now you are saying I attacked you. I am sure you can quote where I attacked you, right?
Show this attack.
You are probably right that "attack" was not the right word. "Stirred the pot" is probably more accurate.
Anyway I am done you can reply again if you like.
Think about what I have said to you. I think there are somethings you do not want to acknowledge that are true.
When people disagree, they often will say why they disagree.
Characterizing this as an attack and even going so far as to suggest that they "always" do this or that there are members missing due to it are more than just suggestive. They are accusatory.
People can and do disagree about perspectives on things. I often promote XFCE desktop. Would you agree that I am pro-XFCE?
If so, would you be shocked that I was just as adamant in confronting Mark of XFCE when they made very similar mistakes as Canonical Did? When they misled the users by saying they cast a vote among the devs to switch to csd's, when in fact they had not had a vote on it? That one got very heated.
I still use XFCE and still am often supportive of it.
But had you only ever seen that one topic; you might say I hate XFCE and express confusion about why I use Zorin OS Lite.
From your perspective, if someone said to you that they think I hate XFCE, you would probably be shocked because what you have seen in your time so far on here is mostly positive from me about XFCE.
As a general rule, when things get to the stage of "you did this or that first", it's a good time to walk away from the keyboard. This isn't productive guys.
