Just a quick note to say "thanks" to the Zorin Group for including an option to install the minimal stuff needed for Zorin OS during installation of the OS. I have Zorin OS 17 Pro, and not too long ago reinstalled Zorin to start fresh. This time, I picked the "minimal install" option, and was pleased I did so. It allowed me the freedom to install whatever I needed for my purposes, and without an excess mix of flatpaks and regular .DEB files. I have since gone with a different layout and stuck with installing .DEB-based applications only via Synaptic, the terminal, and/or the Software Manager. Much better experience, to be honest. I wish I had done this long ago when I first bought Zorin OS Pro. Some of the feedback I've left in the past wouldn't have had to be provided in the first place (but in the end, I suppose it'll help the developers if they choose to listen to it after all, so no qualms there). I am looking forward to Zorin OS 18 to see what will be "new" based on user feedback. I know some of the stuff I've mentioned before was borne out of legitimate concerns and/or problems actually seen in the OS (which had to be worked around), so with it getting closer for the Zorin Group to have to work on Zorin OS 18 (while keeping as current as possible using the Noble Numbat base for Ubuntu), they'd be well-advised to take into account some of it (the feedback) with enough time to test for bugs before release. Anyway, that's it. Does anyone else care to share their experiences with Zorin's minimal install option versus the full option (using the Pro edition)? Thanks to all.

Wasn't the minimal Installation not the whole Time in Zorin Pro?
It was there, but I always picked the "full" install with all the software. This time, I went ahead and tried the minimal install. Big difference. Much better. Way less bloated. More pleasant. Plus me picking a different menu layout helped.
