Those icons look far too clean for a medieval setting 
But pretty cool indeed with that wallpaper, I think you have a gift for choosing the right wallpaper to match the rest of the system.
PS: A medieval maze as mouse cursor would definitely take the cake!

adding dripping blood came to mind, but - the icons should also be functional and easy to spot. So it was a give'n'take.

I release mine without caring one bit of if people out there don't want or like them. I do not ask.
Perhaps only two people ever downloaded my Antares Icons.
Perhaps only three people are using the latest Legacy theme which I uploaded without any announcement at all.
I upload them not because everyone wants them. You cannot please everyone.
I upload them because most people only upload what is popular.
And I enjoy supplying that which is still wanted, but hard to find.
For those that still want that look, it's still there for them. Even if they are few.
Be selfish. Do this for You.
And if others get to partake in your enjoyment, then good for them.
