Thunderbird APT, pleeeease

I am running Thunderbird as Flatpak and have some issues now and then. Is there any hope that it will be available as .apt again sometime?
Most stuff is working fine, just some annoying stuff nonetheless that wasnt an issue with the .apt on Zorin 17...
Tried the PPA and it wasnt better to be honest, but thats for me as an amateur!

Issues at the moment:
Some emails are always stored in local folders and not in their account ones. When I change the permissions in Flatseal suddenly I cannot attach files anymore.
So my AI told me to remove the permissions for "all system files" and tadaa all my profiles are gone and TB wants to setup as new, even when I grant the permissions back again

When companies release their apps, if they release flatpak and something else(apt/deb, tar, even snap) usually flatpak version misses something because of their lack of test on flatpak version. I had this issue for more than 10 apps and removed flatpak.

No its Canonical behaving like Microsoft and Gnome, "We know what is best for users, users don't". If I were still using Zorin I would only ever download the official tarball from Mozilla. [Installing Browsers from a tarball]

Resetting the permissions in Flatseal brought me everything back for now, I still wish there was an.apt as I didnt have any issues there...
any ideas how to solve the issues with the settings of the folders not getting saved properly when I change them?

I am sorry but sometimes I have to. I always had problems with flatpak apps. Some of the Flatpak problems I had: I am using Dbeaver for database operations and flatpak had problems with mysql while Dumping or Restoring DB. On Mission Center, it wasn’t showing icons but AppImage version showed it correctly. I had to create an issue for this to find out this. You wrote that ypu had tried the ppa for thunderbird. With it you get a .deb package.
You could also test the tarball.

In the past you got a snap package of thunderbird when you installed the apt package.
Zorin Group has changed that (to avoid the snap), and now you get a flatpak with the apt package of thunderbird.

When You want an APT Package of Thunderbird on Zorin, the only Option would be to add the mozillateam PPA. Then, You get an APT Package. But don't be confused by the PPA Name. It is not from Mozilla. It is an Ubuntu Team what cares about the Mozilla Stuff.

As for now the Flatpak works again I would just need a solution for changing the set folders or better to have that changes saved.
Any ideas?
