I am on Zorin 17.3
There was a software update in the last couple of days.
I'm at my desk and just went to check on client emails... Thunderbird has blanked itself, like its a fresh install. Its gone from the taskbar. My default mail client in settings has changed to evolution.
I've had Thunderbird installed from day 1 (I've used it for a very long time), with several work and personal accounts.
This is a bit of a WTF? moment. Any ideas?
Edit: I have Thunderbird ESR installed as Flatpack. I use Flatseal to give it file system permissions. In the past I found the Flatpack ran smoother than the deb.
Hello,
I had the same problem today.
Close your Thunderbird
go to your file manager and display hidden files
find the .thunderbird folder and go in
select all files and folders and copy them (not cut for now)
with file manager go there
.var/app/org.mozilla.Thunderbird/.thunderbird
remove all files and folders and copy all files and folders from the copy
Start Thunderbird
I did the updates and for me it seems TB is even unsinstalled?!
I dont see it installed in software center and its also not listed when I enter: flatpak list
That cannot be supposed to be like that?!
Do I just reinstall it and do as you described above?
Edit: whats the difference between TB and TB ESR please?
Yes it was installed as Flatpak after the .deb got cumbersome to install (for me as an amateur user).
I found my profiles where you suggested, and copied them to the new folder also but when I started TB I was back on setup.
Anyway, I did I manually now but if there is some more help that could be provided here it might help others!
But maybe I just did not do it right...
Thanks everybody!
