Opening a docx file using WPS takes more than 30 seconds
Two things that can cause this:
Missing Fonts - Ensure all needed fonts are installed.
If the above does not work to resolve the issue, then:
Internet access for WPS - WPS having net access can cause slow launching of files as it tries to confer over the internet first. To halt this, the WPS application can be blocked using GUFW (Firewall).
Or, you can use Firejail
.
sudo apt install firejail
In /usr/share/applications
, open the .desktop file(s) for your WPS software and change the Exec
line:
Exec=/usr/bin/firejail --net=none wps %U
Save each file you change.
Te problem is that WPS seems to load as normal but when it tries to open a file from documents that is when the delay happens.
Another point is that there is way to log onto WPS.
Perhaps it didn't download properly. I will try reinstalling it.
Give FreeOffice a try. Much better than WPS.
Is this only happen with WPS? Did You tried it with LibreOffice and if yes was the Issue there, too?
