Today is the day: Giant Kings! (AOW4)

I'm totally hyped for this day, not because it the fools day but the DLC: Giant Kings comes out for "Age of Wonders 4". Though there's still 10 hours left before the release. Plus a bonus patch to AOW4 also get release which adds tons of extra stuff to the game.

If you're into turn-based fantasy strategy games you have to check out AOW4. I'm so old that I can remember AOW1 and I had the CD and everything for this game. Games has come a long way - since I have almost been there the whole way from the beginning of the gaming era.

Nice to see you Storm!

While I was never into turn based strategy games, I totally appreciate the statement of experiencing gaming from the start. When you experience the beginning of gaming, you can appreciate where gaming is now.

Thankfully, I'm primarily an FPS gamer, and FPS gaming has been mostly an improvement in all areas, since Wolfenstein 3D. 3rd person adventure games have mostly gone off the deep end, like Dragonage The Veilguard.

I can't speak specifics anymore, cause I get myself moderated, because its not acceptable conversation to speak my mind here, so I'll self moderate and just say, some games are garbage now.

Surprisingly however, many Indy and AA titles have outshined AAA games, and taken a larger spotlight then before. For example, Subnautica is a game that I feel, is the best Indy game ever made!

Additionally, there are many First Person and 3rd Person horror games that are also really awesome, that fall between the Indy to, AA & AAA classification these days. I think many folks would enjoy Pacific Drive.

I remember when AOW first came out. I even remember back in the 90's, it was a toss up between AOW and Diablo. Your right about AOW popularity, it was huge, seemed larger then Diablo even.

Back in the 90's, I was playing classic Doom, Quake, Red Faction, Half Life. Then in the 2000's, I was playing Halo, Serious Sam, Half Life 2, F.E.A.R. I do miss the classics, no doubt there, and I do occasionally play the again too.

These days however, gaming has really improved graphics wise, and gameplay wise. Just not all games have improved story wise, due to devs pushing agendas, which destroy the companies.

Were living in different times, some games have improved, others have not. But one things for darn sure, you need modern computer performance, to drive any of these new games.

Did you know that, while most Indy horror have low graphics standards, not even a 2004 gaming computer could drive many of them? Most gaming today require a 2015 gaming computer or better.
