Touchscreen login from lockscreen

When first logging in using only touchscreen, I can touch the titlebar and turn on the onboard keyboard. However, when the lock-screen is presented, no such option appears to be available. I can see the machine name on the left and a padlock on the right and that's all.

How do I get onboard to appear at the lock-screen so that I can touch the relevant keys for the password?

Can you tell us what the machine is and/or spec.

Light-Locker can interfere and if installed, can be removed.
