Tracker miner was taking too much CPU resource, so I followed the tutorial to mask it by @Aravisian. My system is running pretty smooth so I decided to unmask it and reboot but looking in system resources task manage it says it is sleeping. When will it wake up?
That's one of the first things I mask... I've never needed it. I use CatFish to do file searches, and it's plenty fast without the tracker indexing.
I believe it's triggered by cron.
Will look into Catfish. It was just that I read the system uses the index to load files in a more timely fashion that I unmasked it. Wow catfish is fast found a document in seconds. I suppose once tracker3 has mined all the info it will sleep.
