Hey, I have an I5 11400H with an Intel XE processor, but I don't have the option to lower my frame rate to 60Hz. I only get 90Hz.
How do I do this?
Thanks!

You are likely on Wayland, not Xorg (X11), meaning an xrandr
setting will not resolve this.
If you are not seeing other refresh rates in the Gnome Control Center display settings at all, it could be a compositor or a monitor EDID reporting issue...
But if it was me, I would log in on Zorin on Xorg
and use Xrandr commands to either addmode
or newmode
your desired settings.
Welcome to the Forum!
You should check if zorin runs in X11 or Wayland. Take a Look in Settings>About for this. If it is Wayland, You should switch to X11/Xorg.
To do this, go to the Login Screen (not the Lock Screen). Simply reboot for this. On the Login Screen click on Your Profile so that the Password Field appears. It has to be appeared. When it is appeared, You should see a Gear Icon in the bottom right Corner. click on it and choose ''Zorin Desktop on Xorg'' and then log in and check if You can change it. If not, stay on Xorg and try it with xrandr. Here is a little Tutorial Video:
Hey, thanks for your advice! Even if I changed it, I still don't have the option. What should I do? Thank you!
I try this, but i have error : "xrandr: configure crtc 0 failed", i'm verify screen files, and 90hz unicly... do you have solution?
What is your terminal output for
echo $XDG_SESSION_TYPE
Before you used xrandr's addmode
, did you use newmode
to create the mode?
Is the display device (monitor) an LED, OLED, CRT...?
OK, lets try this.
Please install Compiz from the software store
Launch compiz by clicking on the Zorin icon bottom of screen and typing Compiz, click on it to launch.
Under Composite General category, you will find a refresh rate box, change it to your monitors refresh rate. If you also can't change it here, either your monitor doesn't support 60 hertz refresh, or you have missing video drivers not installed.
