Unable to install Inspiron 15 3535 Firmware Update

I've been using Zorin 17.2 for a few months now on my Inspiron 15 without any major issues, been able to install/remove software pretty easily, etc. However, whenever I turn the laptop on now I get a message about major updates not installing.

I've tried to update my software using Terminal without luck, and when I open the Software app there's an Integrated Firmware update sitting there waiting to install. I'm not sure what this is, and although I've selected both the 'Update' and 'Update and Restart' buttons, the installation just hangs without any progress.

Any ideas how to get this firmware installed? Or if it's not possible, at least remove the error message when I boot up the laptop?

What Error Message do You get?

Software Updates Failed
An important operating system updated failed to be installed

And when I click through to the details, I get this:

Detailed errors from the package manager follow:
failed to build result for a45df35ac0e948ee180fe216a5f703

I've just spotted this fix suggestion, however there is no pending.db in the listed folder.

Okay, let's try it with a Reinstall. Type in the Terminal sudo apt reinstall gnome-software

Thanks for helping out. I'm not sure what I've done, but the error appears to have resolved itself without me doing anything. I've reinstalled gnome-software just in case, but everything seems fine for the moment.
