Unable to pair Apple Magic Keyboard (v1) on a late 2011, 27" iMac

Hi guys, I'm helping friends switching from MacOS to Zorin 17 but I'm facing issues I never encoutered before when trying to connect their Aluminum wireless bluetooth keyboard (Apple Magic Keyboard v1) with Zorin. When I put the device into pairing mode (green led blinking), nothing is shown in the Bluetooth configuration panel in system settings. Zorin detects the mouse and other bluetooth devices, but simply fails to find apple magic keyboard.

I'm using a "stock" Zorin 17 Core installation, no manual driver installation or firmware update. Can this be related to the default Broadcom wireless controller driver? Did someone had similar problems in the past?
How can I avoid to trash a perfectly working keyboard?

Thank you in advance for your answers
Greetings!!
