I can play a DVD in the machine and that will remain in full screen when selected. It happens everywhere I watch videos except the DVD. Select full screen by clicking or keyboard stroke, it becomes full screen and then immediately returns to partial screen. Could this be a Linux or Brave thing?
Go in terminal and type
echo $XDG_SESSION_TYPE
if it's Wayland try to switch to Xorg:
- Logout
- At the login screen, click your username (don't enter password)
- Click the gear icon in the bottom right
- Select "Zorin Desktop on Xorg"
and test
So, the Brave Window goes directly automatically back to Window Mode? Did You understood that right?
Do You have Hardware Acceleration in Brave active? If yes, disable it and try again. Also: Did You tried a different Browser to check if it might be related in specific to Brave?
Do you have installed brave browser extensions? If yes, test it with disabled browser extensions.
OK. I turned off "Use graphics acceleration when available" and so far, that's fixing the problem. Thanks for the inputs everybody. So this just started happening a few days ago and I didn't do anything to cause it. Does downloading updates sometimes throw switches to cause these glitches?
This is enabled by default. I don't know if it will be disabled when You update the Browser. When the next Update comes, You could control it.
