Unattended-upgrades

sudo apt remove unattended-upgrades

Can I safely use the above command to turn off 'unattended-upgrades' so that it stops tying up my machine on startup? My dual-core computer, listed below, does not have the resources necessary to be useful during an unintended upgrade (pun intended). I'm using Zorin 17.1 Pro.

Gateway NV57H77U, Celeron N2830, Manufactured 2012

Thanks much

AFAIK it shouldn't be an issue:
