Unintended single-click on input fields

Hello Aravisian thanks for your endeavor. I will try to remove the mouse, to see how the touchpad reacts. However did some experiments myself as well.

  • tried a live usb from Fedora 31, problem disappeared.
  • tried a live usb from Linux Mint xfce edition, problem seemed to have disappeared, but i'm not 100% sure
  • installed Linux Mint xfce edition and problems appeared again, but not with as aggressive behavior, have to check the mouse settings as you outlined above (the timing settings)

Could it be, that mouse/touchpad driver and / or window manager is responsible for this? How is the driver configuration established in Zorin OS Lite?

Hello zenzen, see my comment towards Aravisian, have tried this last night, but not with Zorin OS Core.

Looking at your hardware, it is not composed of newest release from the manufacturers.

Yet,t he above implies a later kernel (With later drivers) seems to resolve the issue.
You could test:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:tuxinvader/lts-mainline

sudo apt update && sudo apt install linux-generic-6.03

Reboot and test.
