Hi, you have reminded me that I need to upload it to the Internet Archive as should I pop my clogs my Murena account will die with me, so that hopefully there will be a legacy of materials. I have uploaded earlier ones their (15 and 17). I had got round to downloading my Unofficial Manual in various languages of Zorin 12 from Google Docs as I wish to move away entirely from Google. I only still have a Gmail account because my 95 year old mother-in-law's Energy account needs meter reading submissions and does not use technology.
I will also need to move my Vimeo vids there too if possible.
Well slowly upgrading to Zorin 18.1 Core Mk.I - This will be some time as I am being careful not to make mistakes.
Some of the screenshots had poor text so I have created text frames, then filled them with black background to obscure the original text in the boot screenshots.
I have also created a new K3b captured image which is clearer than in Mk III version.
Additionally just manually created text frames for the main menu at the start of the manual so the words are clearer to see:
Just a reminder that the current Mk. IIII is a work-in-progress. Spotted some errors in the earlier version and these have been corrected. As you will see I have extended a lot of information so far and that is only up to Accessories and Files!
Now at 73 pages of Content - still a long way to go.
Note that I will be using shading of terminal commands and appropriate colours as would appear when using markdown on the forum so that it is consistent with how terminal commands would appear on here - no change in the link I provided in the previous post. Enjoy what there is so far! (Feedback more than welcome!)
Sorry, I'm with @zabadabadoo here. You need to use Roman numerals as they are, and have always been, or you're going to confuse anyone and everyone, which I can see you make a HUGE effort NOT to do in your "Unofficial Manuals"! 4 = IV. You don't get to change that, just imagine what would happen to Henry VIII!!!
Well, your Royal Highness, as you're not French or Spanish; who are frankly weird, using ; in place of : and , in place of . and their maths is just peculiar to Spain, I'd suggest you stick to good, old fashioned Roman numerals! Much less likely to be confused for a bar code, and easier for people with sight issues - including myself. There are times I can't see how many III there are and need to use a pencil to separate them.
I am going to try and rename the current release to 18.1 Core as I have noticed a couple of menu items that weren't in 18, most notably mozc (Input Method Editor) for Japanese, which I am sure used to be present in earlier releases.
OK, been doing a bit more on the Zorin 18.1 Core Mk.1 version. Had a thought today and have decided to highlight elements in images with a red frame to tie in with the information text. What do people think? Please let me know if you have time to take a quick look:
