Updater from Zorin OS Core 17 BETA to Zorin OS 17 Pro

Hi guys,

I bought Zorin OS 17 Pro and I want to upgrade from the Zorin OS Core 17 BETA to the Pro version. I'm using the Upgrade Zorin software.

I'm able to select Zorin OS 17 Pro and I can enter my Serial Key.

When I want to start the upgrade, I get this window

It turns for like 5-10 minutes and after I get this new window with an error.

Zorin Os 17 release

All things in development can take some time to fully implement. Zorin OS 17 brought a large amount of changes with the Gnome4+ Desktop, extensions and testing. Finding the right balance, along with the best backports meant more devotion to nuances. A direct upgrade from Focal to Jammy requires switching repositories from Gnome 3.38 to Gnome 4+ and the backports set up. I'm already on Zorin OS 17 Core BETA. It says that Zorin OS 16 to 17 will be available in the coming weeks. There is no mention of Zorin OS 17 Core BETA to Zorin OS 17 Pro.

If it applies to Zorin OS 17 Core BETA, it's OK I will wait.

I am reasonably confident that it does, since the underlying issue is the backports for Zorin OS 17. But you are right, this should be checked and verified - I will start that process, now.

Just used the upgrade tool to go from 17 core beta to 17 pro. Worked without any problems. Very nice. Bye Windows ... welcome Zorin ... loving it!

The upgrade to pro worked flawlessly for me. The only thing that I was worried about was installing the proprietary AMDGPU drivers from ATI in the Core edition and what might happen during the upgrade. It upgraded without a glitch!

Yes, some users may have earlier access or no troubles. Still, it is advised to wait until the ZorinGroup announces official Zorin Upgrader Tool support.

I retried later in the day and it's working now. I upgrade from Zorin OS 17 Core to Pro with my Desktop and Laptop without any troubles.

I will continue to point out for all readers, however, that the official word from ZorinGroup on Official Zorin Upgrader support in 17 is not yet given.

Eagerness is understandable, patience is a virtue.

If a user does use the tool prior to official release, then runs into trouble later - the helpers on this forum may not be aware that you used the upgrader ahead of official release which may be the cause... So Please Disclose If You Used the Upgrader Prior to the Official Release.
