I have Zorin OS installed on flash drive in persistent mode. When I try and do software updater I get an error not all updates can be installed and only give me a partial upgrade button and continue button
How much Persistence do You have set up?
A lot of it I think. Not at home to check. I did notice it's trying to do a kernal update
I only have a live stick without persistence. When I had problems with updating the solution was given to me to hold back packages from upgrading because they blocked the package installer.
Since then, I've only been using sudo apt update and not sudo apt upgrade and I haven't had any problems. Without the update command the packages I want to install are not found. Before I had always used the upgrade command but it had made the problems. I don't need the newest kernel updates and firmware updates for my Zorin 18 testing purposes. I just want to install some apps and explore the new OS.
Unfortunately, I am not familiar with persistence.
It would be good to know. And You could try it over the Terminal. Maybe You get there a more specific Output about the Error. So, it would ge good when You make a sudo apt update && sudo apt upgrade in the Terminal and then post the Output of it here.
