Upgrade to Zorin 17

I am trying to upgrade from Zorin 15 to 17 Pro. I have paid for and downloaded 17. The file in my download folder is Zori-OS-17.1-Pro-64-bit.iso.

When I double click on the file, a media player comes up. How do I install Zorin 17?

Thanks.

that file should go into a bootable device , and then boot from that device

To get it clear; You want to upgrade your current system or do a clean install?

good question , haven't thought of that

Trying to upgrade from 15 to 17.

Okay. You need to install Zorin Upgrader from the Software Center. Via Zorin Upgrader you can upgrade to Zorin 16 and then to 17 afterwards. You need the code you got from purchasing Zorin, so you can enable PRO version when upgrading to 17.

When I went to do the upgrade, I was expecting to have to go to 16, but it automatically gave me 17.

When I do the upgrade, will it keep my user accounts and logins, or will I have to start from scratch? Will it keep my installed apps?

I have backed up my data and made a list of apps.

Thanks.

When upgrading, you'll keep your user accounts, apps and what files you have. But as you already done backup, which is a good idea.
