USB DAC low volume

I have a a Meridian Explorer USB DAC and I have trouble getting it to play loud enough on Ubuntu. Somehow it just works in Arch systems and I don't have this problem. However, Zorin/Ubuntu plays sound from Youtube in a web browser at the normal output volume, but system apps are way too soft at their max. Any tips? Thank you.

I did a websearch of "Meridian Explorer USB DAC ubuntu 22.04", but it did not come up with a solution. (Note Z17 is based on Ubuntu 22.04).
You could take a look at this, but result is inconclusive.
