It would be nice to have usb mouse/keyboard support at install. I had to dig out old hardware and restart the install because the usb mouse & keyboard were non functional
Can you please check the 256SHA of the .iso. You may redownload and reburn it.
The USB mouse and keyboard should both work without problems at install.
I wonder if the xserver-xorg file corrupted during download or burn.
