Hi. When my Zorin OS starts I´m first asked to select a user before I can log in. But Im the only (!) registrated user on this PC. Can this be disabled and why doesn´t Zorin recognise that there
s only one user and this selection is totally nonsens in this case ?
TIA
Peter
Welcome to the Forum!
That has Security Reasons. When someone else would go on your Machine and start it, this Person could freely use Your Machine.
But if You prefer, You can choose the Automatic Login Option. You already could choose this in the Installation Process. to do it now when it is installed, go to Settings>User and the You ahve to activate this:
It could be that You have to unlock this. Look at the Top under the min/max/close Buttons. Click on the Button there and then you have to type in Your Password and then the Automatic Login Option isn't greyed out anymore.
i'm also on Lite and when my zorin starts there's a box with my username already selected all i have to do is put in password...
so not sure why you have to select a user 1st? not sure what you've done during installation maybe ?
only thing i can see in settings is maybe this , not sure ,but uncheck that box if it isn't already.
update : nope , it's not that setting , i just tried it (box checked) and on reboot it's still the same. Just asks for password, username already there ...
so yea , quess i don't know lol
wait maybe i'm misunderstanding what you want to achieve. you don't want to type a password , or does it ask you to choose a user 1st ?
you just want the PC starting without asking anything ?
that's not really advisable
