I cant play VCD from VLC player. I tried converting to H.264(mp4) and install all the package I could install via synaptic package management. I can play CD and DVD just fine.
I suspect my conversion has not been don't properly could someone run me through step by step the proper way?
When You make a Right-Click on the File and choose ''Open with'' and then choose VLC does this work?
Another Point could be Codec support: Open Gnome software, scroll down to the End and click there on the ''Codecs'' Button. then You get an Overview with Codec Packages. Install them all. then open the Terminal and type sudo apt install ubuntu-restricted-extras ffmpeg to get more Codec Support. ubuntu-restricted-extras is a Bundle with Codecs and Microsoft Fonts. Because of that, You get a Licence Agreement Prompt. Navigate there with the Tab Key to Ok and press Enter.
Could you maybe be more specific on which file to "open with" VLC cause I got a few .dat and .vcd file type and yes I tried to open with VLC it just open vlc but the content cannot be played.
On the specific File, You want play with VLC. So, these .dat and .vcd Files You make a Right-Click and choose the Option ''Open with'' and in the opening Window, You look for VLC and choose that.
