Very High Ram usage when no apps running

Hello Everyone,

I am sorry to trouble everyone, but when I was looking into this issue all the answers I found seemed more opinion based than fact based.

I have been running ZOrin OS 17 Pro for a little over a month and have noticed that RAM usage starts off low, but as I use different apps the RAM usage spikes (accordingly) and stays high even after the apps close.

I have used the System Monitor, HTOP, and BTOP to trouble shoot and each gives me a slight variation ( +/- a few GB). When I review the running services nothing seems to be using over 600m of RAM, sure there are a ton of them, but I cant see it eating up over 60% of my 64GB of RAM at idle.

Sorry for such a n00b question, but how can I actually discover how much RAM I am actually using and how do I decrease RAM usage at idle?

Thank you in advance for any and all help and please find a below my current set up and a screen shot of BTOP showing RAM usage.

OS: Zorin OS 17.2 Pro
CPU: I7-11700f
RAM: 64 GB
GPU: RTX 3060
4 TB SSD

Please disregard. I did some more research and discovered the high RAM usage is being saved or held by cache.

I am going to leave this here to help anyone else who may be confused like me.
