Hello,
I was listening to an mp3 file with VLC media player ln my Laptop when suddenly the audio didn't come out, it was silent. I tried to listen to another song, also an mp3 and it happened again.
I closed and opened again VLC, tried another song, same problem.
I restarted my Laptop and tried to play the mp3 again, same problem no sound.
I went to YouTue and played a video, it had sound no problem.
I don't know what is happening, unistalled VLC and installed it back tried the mp3 file again there was no sound.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
Hi, VLC has been a cause for concern in various Zorin iterations. Personally I recommend you change to SMPlayer.
Hi!
Does SMPlayer can convert video to mp3 as well as VLC can?
I also tried QWinff but it also installed MPV without me knowing.
Can't remember, but best app for that is WinFF for Video and audio conversion.
Installed SMPlayerand there was no sound while playing a video, similar to VLC.
Only thing that is working fine are Rhythmbox for audio and Showtime for video.
All the mess was caused because I needed an app to convert VIDEO to MP3.
Thank you for you kindness, your time and your advice.
Is this only this specific mp3 File that doesn't work or does VLC don't play any File anymore? Is VLC installed as Flatpak or .deb/APT Version? Do You have installed all the Codec Packages?
No, it's any mp3 I tried.
Installed as the package for Zorin repository in the Software Store.
All the codec package, that I don't know.
Then let's see ... Open Gnome software and scroll to the bottom. There You find a Button called ''Codecs''. click on it and You get an Overview with Codec Packages. Install them all.
then open the Terminal and type
sudo apt install ffmpeg ubuntu-restricted-extras
That will add additional Codec Support. The last Package is a bundle and includes Microsoft Fonts, too. Because of that, You will get a Prompt for a Licence Agreement. Navigate there with the TAB Key to ''Ok'' and press Enter.
I am going to do that, as soon as I find out, I'll come back and let you know.
Thank you!
I just installed 13 of 14 codecs in Gnome Software except for GStreamer Multimedia Codecs: GStreamer plugins from the "bad" set. Also installed ffmpeg ubuntu-restricted-extras.
Thank you!
