hello i have a drive problem already tried many of the possible options if anyone knows how to relsover this problem i would appreciate it
Do you mean cant find driver for driver for Intel Smart Sound Technology (SST)?
What does Zorin>Settings>Sound show you? Post a screenshot.
Open a terminal session (Ctrl+Alt+T) and type:
alsamixer
Hit F6 to list sound cards.
What do you see? Post a Screenshot.
Welcome to the Forum!
Did You take a Look in the ''Additional Drivers'' Tab in Software & Updates
to check if there are Drivers offered?
how do i do it?
There are several Options.
-
Open the Gnome Software Store and click on the Menu-Buttions left beneath the Min/Max/Close buttons and choose there Software Sources:
-
Open the Software Updater and click on ''Stop''. Then Click on Settings.
In both Cases will open A Window called Software & Updates
. Look there for the Tab called ''Additional Drivers''.
It says I don't have any drivers available
What is with that what @zabadabadoo wrote above:
No, that is AlsaMixer. I mean go to the Settings and there look at the Side for ''Audio'' and there look on the Output:
I have a monitor connected but the monitor does not support audio. The problem is with the laptop which does not recognize the Intel SST.
When You click on the Dropdown-Menu: is there this Intel Sound listed?
If not, there would be the Possibility to try Pulse Aduio Volume Control. This is a Program for set up Audio Input and Output. You can install it with the Terminal Command:
sudo apt install pavucontrol
There You should take a Look in the Output Tab and the Configuration Tab.
@randy0205 I am wondering if it is a kernel thing. Maybe a more recent kernel beyond 6.8 is needed for this hardware.
Have you tried any other Linux distro's before installing ZorinOS?
