Web App Error with Firefox

I was really excited to create web apps in Zorin 18 (using the built in tool) but have been having an issue. I created an Outlook web app referencing the Firefox browser, but on launch receive the message:

Web app settings:

  • Name = Outlook
  • Description = Web app
  • Address = Outlook
  • Category = Web
  • Custom parameters = Custom browser parameters

Troubleshooting completed:

  1. Removed web app -> reinstalled web app = error remains
  2. Uninstall and reinstall Firefox -> reinstalled web app = works, but then fails once computer is restarted

Any and all help appreciated. Previously I used Chrome apps in Zorin, but want to move away from that if I can help it.

Did You tried the additional preinstalled Webapps Program?

The built in tool was the one I used, called 'Web Apps'.

Apologies; likely miscommunication on my part. I've reworded my initial post :flexed_biceps:

Oh, okay. Sorry. When You go to Gnome Software and search for ''web apps'', You get some Programs:

Maybe one of them suits You.

If anyone else comes across this, my 'Web Apps' is now working with Firefox again following Firefox going through a downgrade.

I don't ever recall seeing a downgrade before, but there you go.

This does not bode well. It means that the apt package has been replaced by the snap package from Firefox. If you are satisfied with the snap version and everything is working well, then it is fine. Otherwise, you can remove the snap package from Firefox and try to install the real .deb package.

Follow the instructions for Debian bookworm there.

This (I think) led to the solution. From the software store it turned out I had both .deb and snap versions of Firefox installed. Snap version removed and things appear to working as normal.

If I have any further issues, I'll uninstall and reinstall following this link; thank you.
