Im using 11th Gen Intel® Core™ i7-1165G7 @ 2.80GHz × 8, 16g ram - Both Firefox and Chrome (degoogled) run for a while and then inevitably crash and the computer locks up and must be restarted. The computer is duel boot with Windows 11 which has no issues. Obviously i want to use Zorin and get off Windows altogether. Any suggestions please how to deal with this issue? thanks

Does the crashing happen just with the browsers open, or is anything else open in the background, such as discord etc? Are you doing a specific thing when it crashes, such as a video or something else? Also, if you check Settings -> about, does it state under Windowing System Wayland? If yes, I would recommend giving x11 a try by logging out, then when you go to type your password, click the cog in the bottom right of the screen and select Zorin on X.

If you are sure that this happens only with browsers, try disabling hardware acceleration and see if that makes any difference.

Beneath the Suggestions of @applecheeks37 and @zenzen which are good Points to try, I would like to add something because You have a Dual-Boot System:
- Is Fast Start-Up in Windows turned off?
- Are Secure Boot and Fast Boot in BIOS turned off?
- Are firefox and Chrome APT Packages or Flatpak's/Snap's?
