I have only used the GUI update applications, software updates and application update, I will try the terminal command, perhaps the Zorin apt Brave package will be updated.
Download brave using the official one command script.
This will have auto-update feature:
Just like official website states:
Brave is available as a Flatpak package from Flathub. While it is maintained by Brave Software, it is not working as well as our native packages. In addition, it modifies Chromium sandboxing in ways which have not been vetted by the Brave or Chromium security teams. We currently recommend that users who are able to use our official package repositories do so instead of using the Flatpak.
So I recommend you to avoid flatpak as much as possible.
Yes, try it in Terminal to see if there are an Issue. Normally, the preinstalled Brave should be updated through the Software Updater or the Terminal Way. I have that, too and I get the Brave Updates. I got one earlier this Day.
I'm starting to think I have an issue with some of my repo source addresses, I get a sources.list warning when I use "sudo apt upgrade". I have too look into it more.
I think it might have happened when I changed graphics card recently, I switched from Nvidia to AMD and in that change also automatically switched from X11 to Wayland. Might also have changed other things.
Is there any repair command or function in Zorin that checks the system?
I don't know exactly what have happened with my system but I followed the "Debian, Ubuntu, Mint" instructions on the Brave Linux web page:
Pehaps the Brave gpg keys were out of date. i ran "sudo apt install brave-browser" first and got the message the there were no package with that name, even though "sudo apt list brave*" listed it. After downloading the gpg keys "sudo apt install brave-browser" worked.
The Zorin GUI app manager still reports an old Brave version and it doesn't list Brave as installed even though it is.
Zorin web apps is working again at least!
I don't know, this package thing is confusing. It's like there are at least three (or more) package installers in the system
