Webcam detected but not functioning

Hello everyone,
I just installed Zorin OS 15.3 on my Dell Latitude D630.
I plugged my old Webcam Logitech, Inc. QuickCam Communicate STX but when I start Cheese I see “No device found”.
So I had a look in lsusb

So as I understand, the webcam is detected but not working. What I have to do?

@milo Hi and welcome to th eForum.
As Zorin is based on Ubuntu, you can also search there for potential solutions.
I have found this:

In terminal, can you run sudo apt install v4l-utils Then reboot and test camera with cheese again? Other thing to check: Some computer manufacturers have the webcam switched off in BIOS. It may be under Advances- System Configuration- You may need to check Sony Vaio page for better information.

I dont know if that will help. Let us know how you get on. Others on here may have better ideas.

Hi, I am new to the forum. This is the terminal command I used to get my webcam to work
“$ Sudo apt install webcam”

Since you are necromancing one year old thread I am not so sure the OP is still with us or not.
