I was updating and poking around a little - ran flatpak update and noticed these two keep installing / uninstalling - and that's it. I don't notice anything weird happening - yet. After noticing the loop a few times, figured I'd throw this out.. kinda weird. Kooha was giving the same info bit - uninstalled, reinstalled and went away.. Don't wanna try with these and break something.
Can you please run
sudo apt install xdg-desktop-portal
If any errors, relay them here. Otherwise, once complete, reboot.
Then test updating flatpak again and relay the results.
Seems to be there; didn't install anything..
I did look around for others with similar issues - did find some using PopOS, used flatpak remove --unused... tried doing that and it was going to basically uninstall every theme and flatpak app. So, didn't do that haha
There was some recent stickiness with the xdg-desktop-portal software - it was worth trying.

Ok so we see them. And we see there are newer versions that it wants. So, let's remove the 20.08 versions.
flatpak remove org.freedesktop.Platform.GL.default
At the prompt, choose the 20.08 version. If it asks if you want to remove additional files and folders for that version, say yes to recapture more drive space.
Next:
flatpak remove org.freedesktop.Platform.VAAPI.Intel
At the prompt, choose the 20.08 version.
Once both are complete, try the Flatpak Update command and see if it is working.
So it did remove them... don't know why it keeps wanting them back hmm

Yeah, gave it a few reboots; had some outing earlier sorry for the delay.
Vicious cycle lol I might just do a fresh reinstall sometime - only popped up recently.
I did notice I have both Gnome 3.38 and 42 - in Software. I had ZorinOS 16, then 16.1, .2, now .3 - all upgrades. Not sure if that has anything to do with it.
It doesn't, but you are quite right to mention any details that may be helpful.
The system is Gnome 3.38. Users that have the Flatpak Software Plugin installed will see Gnome 42 or Gnome4+ packages listed. These 4+ packages are for *flatpak Dependencies Only and are not related to the Gnome System that is Zorin OS Desktop.
You might retrace your steps on running the flatpak remove command on those packages. Then choosing the version.
Double check with flatpak list --runtime after removing them to see if they are still there.
I wonder if, by error, the wrong version other than the 2.08 got removed.

Noticed these two are still 20.08. Haven't tried removing the old packages but do have the same as both but 22.08, same versions as the 20.08 ones.
Yes, remove any 20.08 versions for those packages and do not remove the 22.08 versions.
Allllright - so I think the older Nvidia drivers are doing something too. Tried removing the older 525 and 530 packages but was met with a looong list of what else was going too lol pretty much, everything..
I'm just going to reinstall - won't be losing anything.
