Setup Zorin with Plasma DE on my Windows 11 box as a dual boot. Shrunk the win 10 partiton by 100GB and allocated that to Zorin in the something else method of install.
Had to install twice as the first time Zorin didn't detect my ethernet connection and was trying to download from my USB dongle which wasn't on.
So second time around I did try it now and in Zorin settings disabled the dongle (should of just unplugged now that I think about it) and the install went fine on my i5 9400F box. Will keep it updated but I am still deferring to Win 11 but it plays nicely with secure boot and windows boot manager.
I agree with this! I have been installing operating systems, for like forever. In my experience, it is always best to have a wired ethernet connection, when setting up the internet portion of an operating system. The method of wireless, is always going to be iffy, and can cause more problems, then they actually solve.
And for folks who say they don't have an ethernet port, in their slim-down notebook computer, I should bring to your attention that, you will have a USB port don't ya? OK, well, you can get an ethernet to USB adapter, as USB is setup as a multi-use protocal, which can also utilize ethernet.
I am glad that you are loving and enjoying Zorin OS. Yes, you have done it, and you have done it very well, welcome to Linux, welcome to Zorin OS, a family who truly believe, that the choice should always be your's, not your operating system. Congrats!
