Which is better to use when shutting down for the night, Suspend or Power Off?
Personally, when I have finished a session I power off. That way my next session starts with a clean boot from scratch.

I do the same thing and shut down my computer overnight, unless I'm in the middle of my work and don't want to close everything so I can pick up right where I left off the next day.
I think it depends on personal preference. Some users only shut down their computers once a week or even less often.
When the computer is in sleep mode, it still uses power the whole time, whereas when it’s shut down, it doesn’t. However, frequent restarts can also damage the computer. Unfortunately, I don’t know what the best compromise is.
Personally, this is what I do: During the day, when I take a break, I put it to suspend, and at night, I shut it down.

I brought up that question to Brave AI and in my opinion it answered it with facts as many articles bring up the same points. Restarting causing damage was a thing in the past.
I can tell you from experience the PC I bought in the year 2007 lasted me 17yrs! Mechanical hard drive from western digital never failed, the power supply never failed, no components failed. It was a little over a year ago I finally decided to recycle it. I can't recall the amount of times I restarted that PC but it was in the hundreds.
Yeah, the restarting thing is a myth.
My current PC I restart multiple times a day testing LIVE distros and it's the least of my worries.

Thanks for the information. I thought that the warning about frequent restarts was out of date and didn't apply to modern equipment. I've turned off automatic suspend and no longer use it because it occasionally won't wake up and requires me to do a hard restart.

We've still got the machine I built in 2006. Single Athlon 64-bit processor, 2 WD Hard Drives, one with XP Pro and 7 Ultimate 32-bit but can only boot into 7 after installing Q4OS on the second drive.
2 Gb RAM max, EVGA silent graphics 512 Mb 8x AGP.
Win 10 themed with a wallpaper from a Windows 7 .theme. (Firefox since been replaced with LibreWolf).
Mine is still in use, thanks to ZorinOS.
