Hi
I use on my former Chromebook who got liberated 1h after bought.
The Chrome Information Website told me I should use Ubuntu do to incompatibility. Well I install them anyway and it works. The use some kind of "weird" Sound Driver who is not available in Windows but works in Ubuntu.
The small down side of the Device the only have 2 Cores but 8Gb of Ram (who is plenty for a small os).
It is the CX1500FKA. Thanks
Welcome to the Forum!
So, this is an Experience Report and not a Help Request, yes?
Wenn I just want ask if someone know what kind of driver the use from what OS.
That mean if it could potentially run or not.
Do you mean this script for setting up sound on chromebooks?
You could try to follow the commands mentioned in the askubuntu link for ubuntu 24.04 (if you are on Zorin 18), but I'm not familar with chromebooks.
Do you have no sound on Zorin or what is the problem?
In your profile is shown "none" for Zorin OS, so what OS do you use?
Hi
No I ask because I am curios about Zorin OS and would like try it out if I know the could work. I use Ubuntu on the Device. The other run some other Linux who I dont know out of the memory what. Can I config when I install Zorin OS what Software the should and should not install? I dont want the addional Software when I buy the Version to support the Team.
You can choose the minimal install when you buy Zorin pro. Then there are installed less apps, but you can't configure them like in other distributions like arch.
To test if Zorin works on your device you can create a Zorin boot stick, boot from it and select "Try Zorin". Zorin 18 is based on ubuntu 24.04 and should use the same drivers as ubuntu 24.04 with kernel 6.14 (I think but I am not sure).
You don't stipulate which version of Ubuntu you are using. Zorin's latest is 24.04, whereas the most recent LTS of Ubuntu is 26.04. This can make a difference.
This isn't released yet. This comes next Year. There are only Snapshots for Testing; these are no regular Releases.
