What Is Your Favorite Package Manager & Why?

Does this mean tomorrow it may not be synaptic...?? LOL

Generally I'll use the terminal if I already know in advance exactly what I want to do, or the Software Store if I don't. I think the Store is a great experience, if not perfect, and it is what I would recommend to anyone else who's not familiar with the OS.

Synaptic is nice too as a power-user's graphical package manager, but I would presume since it is just a GUI for apt, it's no good for managing packages from other formats.

This is a very good point. It cannot use Alien for example.
But I suspect this would be true for most GUI package Managers.

Well, since I have no wish to install aliens in my computer, I think I will stick with my Synaptic Package Manager thank you very much. :stuck_out_tongue:

Alien is very useful for converting .rpm packages to .deb packages for ease of installation.
