Hi there,

I have a RTX 4080 Super on my main computer and an RTX 2080 TI on my old Alienware R10 puter and using the 580 Nvidia drivers on BOTH computers without any problems.
Do You have any Problems with the Driver? If not, You could simply stay on it. Or: You try the 590 Driver and when You don't like it, go back to the 580 Driver.
I have the 590 driver installed for a gtx 1080. Thermal control for fan won't take. I can move the slider but when applied I get the message "failed to set new fan speed.
Yeah, it seems to be fine. But if there were improvements to be had, then why not ![]()
I was interested to hear if people have a buggy experience with 590. Probably with the 2070 being a 'fairly' old card (not old by my standards) there's probably little improvement in newer drivers. But i am never abreast of such things - particularly for Nvidia. My son's PC is the only computer with an Nvidia card.
Welcome to the Forum!
The 590 Driver cutted Support for 10XX Cards. Only 16XX Cards and upwards are supported with this Driver. So, it would be better to go back to the 580 Driver.
Thanks I will do that.
